The Rain Train
by Elena de Roo

Summary: A young boy watches and listens as the Rain Train takes him on a ride past city lights, over rivers, and through tunnels one rainy night.

This story is bland, but the rhythmic text makes this book appropriate for use as a bedtime story.

Elmer and the Rainbow

Elmer and the Rainbow
by David McKee

Summary: Elmer the elephant enlists his animal friends to help him find the end of a strange, colorless rainbow so that he can share some of his patchwork colors and make it right.

This is a very sweet story. I like that some of the animals have doubts but they all have a positive attitude and are ready to help.

This is a beautifully narrated and illustrated story. It is fantastic for comforting children afraid of storms.
